Hanyu Huo is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in SOLBAT project working on solid-state batteries. He got the Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in May 2020. He was a visiting Ph.D. student in Western University from Sep 2018 to Apr 2020. During his Ph.D. study, Hanyu focused on the interface design based on garnet-type LLZO solid electrolytes for dendrite-free Li metal solid-state batteries.
Hanyu has abundant experience of various solid electrolytes (e.g. polymers, oxide-type LLZO, and sulfides) and characterization technics (e.g. in situ XPS, operando SEM, and ultrasonic imaging). He was a postdoc in Prof. Juergen Janek’s group for almost three years before joining Prof. Bruce’s group, where he worked on thin composite polymer/sulfide separators and electrolyte-free silicon anodes. He received twice the CAS Presidential Scholarship (Excellence Award in 2019, and Special Award in 2020).
