Dr Adam Sobkowiak

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Adam received his M.Sc. (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) degrees from Uppsala University, Sweden. His doctoral project was aimed at enriching the fundamental understanding of LiFeSO4F as a cathode material for Li-ion batteries, for which he received the Anna Sundström Award by the Swedish Chemical Society. Adam joined Prof. Peter Bruce's group in April 2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and is now working primarily on a wide range of lithium-rich transition metal oxides as potential next-generation cathode materials.

His general research interests are focused around materials development for energy storage applications and his main skills lie within inorganic synthesis, electrochemistry, crystallography and Mössbauer spectroscopy. In his spare time, Adam enjoys playing golf and exploring new places around the world.
