Dr Erez Cohen

Research Manager

Erez Cohen

Erez conducted his undergraduate studies at Tel-Aviv University, Israel, and received his Ph.D. degree from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel in January 2018. In his doctoral project he worked on Functional Aqua Materials based on noncovalent interactions which are in high demand due to the advantages compared with their covalent counterparts: adaptivity, easier fabrication via solution processing, self-healing, reversibility and facile recycling.  In a collaboration with BASF he showed that a hydrogel-like membrane self-assembled from an aromatic amphiphile and colloidal Nafion was capable of purifying water from organic molecules and heavy metals in a very wide range of concentrations. Remarkably, the membrane can sustain high pressures, retaining its function. During his doctoral training he also pursued an MBA concentrated on Finance.

Erez joined the Bruce group in February 2018 as the Project Manager of the Supergen Energy Storage Hub and other projects concerned with Energy Storage.
